Research shows that studying music as a young child builds a solid foundation for school readiness and early success. CSA's graduated Early Childhood Music program introduces aural skills, musical concepts, orchestral instruments and music from around the world.

Toddlers (18 mo–3 yrs) Kindermusik Our Time $192/15 weeks | Materials fee $50 TUE 9:45–10:15 am | Pierce 201 | Storm WED 9–9:30 am | Pierce 108 | Storm Numerous musical activities foster creative and holistic development through singing, listening, movement games and exposure to a variety of Orff instruments. Parent attends class. Materials include home Activity Book, 2 literature books, instrument and class music.
Preschoolers 1 (3–4 yrs) Musikgarten Cycles of Seasons $220/15 weeks | Materials fee $40 TUE 10:30–11:15 am | Pierce 201 | Storm Imaginative self-expression grows through instrument exploration, singing, creative movement and storytelling, while laying a foundation for future instrument study. Parent attends class. Materials include CD, parent book and picture cards.
$396/15 weeks | Materials fee $52 WED 9:45–11:20 am | Pierce 108/104 l Storm/Nagle Enjoy instruments, singing and creative expression with your child in these two 45-minute classes exploring music and art. Parent attends class. Materials include CD, parent book and picture cards.
Preschoolers 2 (4–5 yrs) Musikgarten Music Makers 1 $245/15 weeks | Required materials fee $50 THU 10–11 am | Pierce 108 | Cathey This class explores song, creative movement and symbolic thinking and is perfect for the child who prefers movement-based learning. Parent attends last 15 minutes. Materials include 2 CDs and home activity folder.
Pre-Kindergarten (4.5–5.5 yrs) Kindermusik Young Child 1 $245/15 weeks | Required materials fee $75 TUE 9:45–10:45 am | Pierce 108 | Cathey Students enjoy the vocal and written languages of music through songs and instruments. It is appropriate for the child who can sit for a longer period of time and enjoys focused, small-motor activities. Parent attends last 15 minutes. Materials include glockenspiel, bag, activity folder and class music.

Kindermusik Young Child 2 $282/15 weeks | Required materials fee $75 TUE 10:45–12 pm | Pierce 108 | Cathey Explore music from around the world through a variety of musical and movement activities, including beginning instrument study on the dulcimer, recorder and glockenspiel. Prerequisite: Music Makers 1 or Young
Musikgarten Music Makers: at the Keyboard $282/15 weeks | Required materials fee $60 WED pm 4–5:15 pm | Pierce 101 | Wilder A perfect foundation for private study on any instrument, these musicianship lessons at the keyboard emphasize making music with others, playing songs by ear, learning to read music and improvising. A 66-key, weighted keyboard or acoustic piano is required for home practice. Parent attends last 15 minutes. Materials include instruction book, games, CDs and parent book.
